Washington St. Traffic Calming Project

In collaboration with the Bicycle Coalition of Maine and the Bath Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, The city will implement a recommended set of traffic calming efforts aimed at creating a safer environment for cyclists. Recognizing the importance of promoting active transportation and reducing accidents, the city has taken proactive measures to prioritize bike safety. These efforts include the installation of yellow and white flex posts to slow motor vehicle traffic. These installations will be temporary and testing will be done to see the impacts of these traffic calming measures before moving forward with any permanent solutions. More information, including a map of where the gateways will be placed, can be found at cityofbath.com/trafficcalming

By combining infrastructure improvements with education and awareness initiatives, the city is actively working towards creating a more bike-friendly and safe environment for all residents and visitors.
