Community Development Committee

Mission

The Community Development Committee was created by a City Council resolution in 1992. Its mission is to promote community growth and development through strategic neighborhood stabilization and partnering on programming to support the quality of life of all residents. The committee will serve as the review committee for state and federal grant applications and advise the City Council on applications, plans, and policies to help meet community development goals.

Focus Areas (but not limited to)

  • Review committee for Community Development Block Grant and Brownfields programs
  • Citizen Involvement Day
  • Neighborhood stabilization, including abandoned properties
  • Homelessness (when applicable)
  • Downtown façade program
  • Food insecurity/stability
  • Public art
