Notary Policy

The City Clerk’s Office charges for notary services. Many local banks provide the service free to their customers.

We do signature notarizations only.

We do not notarize wills, I-9s, real estate closing documents, or select power of attorney paperwork.

The fees are as follows, per document:

• Resident $5 per signature
• Non-Resident $10 per signature
• Witnesses provided $2.50 per witness signature

Notarial acts needed to complete City business will be done at no cost. Petitions will be notarized at the above rates.

Appointments are required if the City is providing witnesses. Please contact 207-443-8332.

This is at the discretion of the Clerk and can be changed at any time.
